One of the vital components of SHIP is the Frederick County Youth Action Board (YAB), a platform created by young adults who've either experienced or are currently facing housing instability or homelessness. This board provides invaluable feedback and education to enhance services and systems dedicated to helping them.

SHIP works hand in hand with Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) to offer essential items, including hygiene products, new clothing and shoes, youth activities, experiences, and emergency shelter. Their efforts make an enormous difference in the lives of these young individuals.

The New Horizons program is another remarkable initiative that addresses the challenges faced by homeless youth, recognizing that high school graduation is a critical predictor of future success. Through personalized service plans and connections to community services, New Horizons aims to break the cycle of homelessness and pave the way for a brighter future.

Thrive Housing Network, a part of SHIP, plays a crucial role in providing housing to unaccompanied students experiencing homelessness through host homes and rapid rehousing. With nearly 200 unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness in Frederick County Public Schools, this program is a beacon of hope and stability.

As educators, we understand the profound impact that education has on a person's life. That's why we're especially passionate about supporting programs like SHIP.
