Okay guys... First of all, look at how incredible this transformation is. Sav has MASSES of hair, so this was an all day affair, but I’d say it was worth it. She requested bright, electric blue, so that is what we delivered. Secondly, I’m using this image as my entry to #shadowpresleypoe. Being able to shadow and work along side Presley would be such an incredible opportunity. I’m a baby in this industry. I’m still finding my place. I don’t know if I’ll ever find it where I live. If I have to, I’ll pave my own way, with my own style, and bring something new to the game. Presley’s attitude toward hair, and the industry, as well as her signature style really connects with me. Being able to be mentored, even if only for a couple of days, by an industry leader with so much experience and knowledge would be invaluable. I would be honored to win. Looking back at my MOST proudest work I’ve done would be this one. I created this 3 years ago for a contest that not only challenged me but brought my love for creativity back. I’ve been doing hair for almost 15 years but feel like I’ve been doing it for 5 years...hairstyling and haircolor has evolved and I’m not one to be left behind. Since I opened up my own salon suite and IG couple years ago i knew I wanted to stand out and grow... I’m self taught and have learned from watching people I admire including @presleypoe...if I wanted to learn or had a creative idea I would use models and/or friends to practice with little to no pay... late nights at salon, investing in so much color, hrs away from loved ones and taking millions of pics; all to grow as a stylist. Shadowing @presleypoe for me would mean everything to me because not only do I admire her and her similar style we share but I want to learn more... I LOVE to learn! Especially from the ones who I admire and their work inspires me...still have so much room for growth! I feel this would be a great opportunity to be part of something great...she is someone who is very empowering to women and I truly admire that... I want to be part of this....PLUS I’m free that weekend 🤪 #shadowpresleypoe @hairdustry @cosmoprofbeauty

This was one of my favorites! #fashioncolor done of my **beautiful** friend. A chance to #shadowpresleypoe would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. All of the long days and nights, all of the self doubts and thoughts of giving up and finding a new career (not likely) would give new meaning to my outlook on pushing forward as a stylist and creator!! R A I N B O W 🌈🖤 This holographic inspired rainbow colormelt was done using exclusively @manicpanicpro semipermanent colors. •I first lightened her regrowth and toned her existing blonde with #silverstiletto. • After rinsing I dried a horseshoe shaped section at the top of her head. • I over directed each sub section forward to one meche strip. • On each section I started with #SmokeScreen at the scalp, followed by #PussyCatPink+ Pro Pastelizer+#BlueBayou+Smoke screen, #SolarYellow+Smoke screen+Pro Pastelizer, and Blue Bayou+ Smokescreen+Propastelizer. I combed through each section after application to allow colors the blend together to create the rest of the colors in the rainbow spectrum. #shadowpresleypoe @presleypoe @hairdustry @cosmoprofbeauty I am a firm believer in education and that as artists we should be constantly expanding our craft. I’ve done a lot of work I’m proud of but this is my proudest. I still look at this image and nod to myself lol. It took me about 5 hours to individually paint minuscule sections with 13 different bowls of color to achieve the desert sunset I was trying to achieve. Do you know what makes me even more proud? This is on my former Student! She trusted in my skill so much that she gave me free reign do whatever I wanted and she still does to this day as my now client. That’s the power of education !!! To #shadowpresleypoe would mean so much to me in my career because she has spoken to my artistic abilities so much when I thought I was in a slump I would never get out of, no bs . She’s given me words of encouragement before as a stranger online when I just randomly said “hell yeah I’ll never be that great” 😆 and reminded me everyone gets where they want through education ! I just want to spend a day and soak up all the knowledge she is willing to give . For real, enough with the novel, she has been my inspiration for a few years now and from her graciousness of giving education online she’s made me into who I am today as a colorist ( I may be a long time watcher 👀) . We’ve never met but she’s been a teacher for someone who thought they “knew about everything” and quickly put me in my place. Thanks you @presleypoe hope to work with you soon one day. I started in this industry when I was 17 as part of the apprenticeship program in California. At 19 I had my license. Since then I have been doing hair (off and on ) for the past 17yrs. A little over a year now I have taken time away. I was feeling burnt out and unfulfilled and I knew something had to change. I needed to grow. Sometimes in life you have to take a few steps back in order to take a few steps forward. We’ve all heard it! Right?! So I am dedicating this year to my own personal creative growth, busting my ass (and not getting paid for it) so that I can create a portfolio of work that I am really proud of. I realize now that my “dream job” really would be to work as a freelance hairstylist. Focused more on editorial type hair, and as part of a creative team! With that being said, shadowing @presleypoe would be such an incredible honor and opportunity!! Honestly, I wasn’t going to enter this contest because I felt it wasn’t right since I’m not currently working in a salon. BUT I am STILL a hairstylist! It is the very core of my being!! It is forever flowing through my blood!! I’m obsessed with it!!! I eat, drink and sleep it! So I decided today, after talking with a few awesome friends, that I am entering. Because to meet Presley Poe and to be mentored by her would quite literally be a dream come true to me. So, with one day left, and scared as sh*t to enter, here I am! Doing just that! I love the instant and often intimate connection of sharing knowledge- not only between stylist and client but STYLIST TO STYLIST. I love the spark of inspiration that comes from watching someone create in their element and formulate ideas. I’m exceptionally inspired by color and styling that is executed in a way that is unburdened by the critique of convention. For me, that’s always been my experience in seeing the work of @presleypoe - Her color, placement, technique and energy feel irreverent and fresh while the consistency and precision make it evident that her work comes from a place nurturing and craftsmanship.
